Welcome to the Islands of Adventure Page!

Opened in 1999, the addition of Islands of Adventure converted Universal Studios Florida into the Universal Orlando Resort.

Eight themed lands are waiting to welcome you for a day of exploration and fun:

Port of Entry

As you head into Islands of Adventure, you will come upon Pharos Lighthouse. A functioning lighthouse that at night, will send out a bright stream of light to bring visitors to the front gates.

Port of Entry is unique in that it has no rides. Housing such stores as: Island Market and Export Candy Shoppe, Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe, among others and dining locations that include: Backwater Bar, Croissant Moon Bakery and a few others, this is more of a shopping and dining area.

Marvel Super Hero Island

Enter the world of Marvel Superheroes and comics here on Marvel Super Hero Island!  The comic-book styled architecture  will make you feel as though you have stepped into the pages of those infamous comic books.

The area is home to dining outlets as well as retail stores.

Here you will also find:

The Incredible Hulk Coaster...This one can't be missed as you walk under a piece of the coaster (listen carefully and you will hear Hulk's growl as the train sails out of the tunnel above). This is a steel coaster that has a top speed of 67mph. (Personal note: though the ride is very smooth, if you are in the back, keep your head against the rest. It does get a little rocky back there and you could come off with a minor headache).

Storm Force Accelatron...This is a teacups stylized ride. Board the ride and be taken on a spinning adventure.

Doctor Doom's Fearfall...Themed after the Fantastic Four, climb aboard Doctor Doom's and take a quick shot up to the top. You will then be slowly returned to the bottom.  The view at the top is worth it!

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man...Located inside of the Daily Bugle, climb aboard a 3-D simulator set in New York and help Spider-Man prevent the Sinister Syndicate from stealing the Statue of Liberty.

Toon Lagoon is home to such classic cartoon characters as Popeye and Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties.  In this land, you will find rides that are water-based.

Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls is a log flume combined with a roller coaster track. Having opened in 1999, it is one of the parks original attractions.

Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges ...Tag along as Popeye tries to save Olive Oyl from Bluto during this crazy river rafting water ride. (You WILL come off soaked)

Skull Island

One of the newer lands in the park, Skull Island opened in 2016 and is home to the attraction, Skull Island: Reign of Kong. Board a cargo truck and head to Skull Island. As you arrive, the driver of your vehicle is informed that a crew needs assistance. You go to help out  and find yourselves placed in the middle of a jungle with massive sized insects, not to mention in the center of an epic battle between King Kong and other larger than life animals.

Jurassic Park

Welcome to...Jurassic Park (play John Williams score)...This land is set after the first movie, Jurassic Park. We are in the fabled John Hammond's dinosaur theme park which is the basis of the movie series.

You will find four attractions within this area:

Jurassic Park River Adventure: Sail along a slow moving river as you enter the Jurassic Park area.  You will pass by some peaceful, silly dinosaurs before being sent off course into the raptors containment unit. Keep your eyes open for 2 raptors fighting over a Team Members uniform. (Where is the team member?)  As you get farther into the containment unit, you will make your way up a large hill where even more raptors (these guys seem a bit more angry) are trying to get to you! Sail along for a few minutes at the top before seeing the T-Rex...and the drop! You'll soar down a 85 foot drop and get soaked at the bottom.

Pteranodon Flyers: Due to the low capacity limits of this ride, keep in mind, this ride is only for guests who are 36"-56" or those with a child of that height may ride. Pteranodon Flyers is a steel suspended roller coaster. On the ride, the car is pulled up a hill and flies above Jurassic Camp and then returns you back to the station for disembarkation.

Camp Jurassic: This area is geared to kids.  It's a children's play area that houses a Banyan tree at it's center. You can find slides, fountains and water cannons.  It's a great spot for any kids who may be too small to ride or just a nice spot to burn off some steam.

VelociCoaster: Opening in June 10 2021, this is the apex predator of roller coasters! Board your coaster for a high speed run through the raptor paddock.  Feel your heart pump as you join the hunt alongside these predators...it will take you twisting and soaring not only over the land, but the water as well!

You can even take a walk down Knockturn Alley!

In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade houses five attractions:

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: This attraction is located inside of Hogwarts castle.  As you make your way through the queue, you will come upon portraits that talk, walk through the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and even hear from the Sorting Hat!
Once in the ride vehicle, you fly with Harry and Ron and run into more famous creatures from the movie....Dementors, the Whomping Willow and a huge snake...are just a few that you will see!

Flight of the Hippogriff: This is a kid's roller coaster that is themed after Buckbeak, the Hippogriff from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.  The ride itself is 45 seconds, but it's fun to say you flew with Buckbeak!

Ollivanders: Wizards and Witches throughout time has purchased their wands from Ollivanders.  It's your turn now! Join the show and find out which wand will choose you! Once chosen, you can purchase your wand or shop around for a different one.
