Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is getting closer to opening, and we finally have our first look inside the guest rooms!
Opening July 1, 2027, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will join the Walt Disney World Resort lineup along the shores of Bay Lake. With 967 rooms, a nature-inspired design, unique accommodations, and some pretty spectacular views, this new resort is definitely one to keep an eye on if you’re planning a Disney vacation in 2027.
And there’s one accommodation in particular that caught my attention…
The brand-new Waterfront Lake Houses. 🏡
Let’s take a closer look at what we know so far.
A Resort Inspired by Nature — With Plenty of Disney Magic
Lakeshore Lodge is designed around the idea of connecting guests with nature while incorporating the storytelling Disney is known for.
Throughout the resort, you’ll find natural materials, earthy colors, original artwork, and subtle inspiration from Disney animated films that celebrate the great outdoors.
The room designs take inspiration from Bambi, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, Encanto, and Fantasia, with each accommodation category having its own personality.
And because this is Disney, the details aren't simply about decorating a room with a character. The storytelling is woven into the design in a much more subtle way.
The Waterfront Lake Houses Are Something New

One of the most unique features of Lakeshore Lodge will be its one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses, located directly along Bay Lake.
These freestanding accommodations will feature dramatic A-frame architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and waterfront views.
The one-bedroom Lake Houses will sleep up to five guests, while the two-bedroom Lake Houses will sleep up to eight.
They'll also include:
A private porch overlooking Bay Lake
A full kitchen
A washer and dryer
Spacious living areas
Floor-to-ceiling windows
The interiors will draw inspiration from Disney Animation's Brother Bear, including artwork inspired by the film's Alaskan setting.
One of my favorite details? The primary bedroom will feature a Northern Lights-inspired lighting element that creates a peaceful glow at night.
These are definitely not your typical Disney hotel room.
Studios and Villas for Different Types of Travelers

Not every guest needs a Lake House, and Lakeshore Lodge will offer plenty of other options.
Duo Studios
Traveling as a couple or just two people?
The Duo Studios will offer a cozy retreat for two with colorful design elements inspired by Encanto.
Deluxe Studios
Deluxe Studios will sleep up to four guests and will bring the woodland feel of Bambi into the room through warm natural materials, artwork, and forest-inspired details.

One- and Two-Bedroom Villas
For families who want more space, the one- and two-bedroom villas will sleep up to five and nine guests, respectively.
These accommodations will also feature Bambi-inspired design, along with:
Full kitchens
Washers and dryers
Private patios
Separate living and dining spaces
For families who like having room to spread out—and especially for longer stays—these features can make a big difference.
Three-Bedroom Grand Villas

Traveling with extended family or a larger group?
The three-bedroom Grand Villas will sleep up to 12 guests and will be designed with multigenerational travel in mind.
Inspired by Fantasia, these villas will include multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen, a private patio with Bay Lake views, and plenty of space for everyone to gather.
This is one accommodation category I'll be watching closely for families traveling together.
Resort Rooms and a Little Extra Magic

Lakeshore Lodge will also offer traditional resort accommodations, including resort studios sleeping up to four guests and resort studio king rooms for two.
These rooms will draw inspiration from Pocahontas, incorporating earthy colors and artwork inspired by the film's natural landscapes.
And for guests who choose select Club Level accommodations, there will be access to The Artist's Nest.
This concierge lounge will be perched above the treetops and will offer personalized service, complimentary refreshments, and views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
The Hidden Willow Presidential Suite

For the ultimate splurge, the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite will sleep up to six guests and feature:
Two bedrooms
Two full bathrooms
A full kitchen
A washer and dryer
Bay Lake views
Access to The Artist's Nest
And yes, you'll be able to enjoy peaceful views of Bay Lake during the day and Magic Kingdom fireworks at night. 🎆
So, Who Is Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Best For?
Obviously, we won't really know until the resort opens and we can experience it firsthand, but based on what Disney has shared so far, I think Lakeshore Lodge could be especially interesting for:
🌲 Families who want a quieter, nature-focused resort atmosphere
The resort is designed to feel connected to Bay Lake and the surrounding natural environment rather than simply feeling like another theme park hotel.
👨👩👧👦 Multigenerational families
The larger villas and Grand Villas could make this an appealing option for families traveling together who want shared space without necessarily sharing one standard hotel room.
🏡 Families who want more space
The villas and Lake Houses offer kitchens, laundry, and separate living spaces—features that can be especially helpful on longer Disney vacations.
✨ Disney fans looking for something new
If you've stayed at many of the existing Disney resorts and want to experience something completely new, Lakeshore Lodge will certainly offer a different look and feel.
When Can You Book Disney's Lakeshore Lodge?
Reservations will open in October 2026, with different booking dates depending on eligibility:
October 6, 2026:Disney Vacation Club members can make early rental reservations through Member Services.
October 7, 2026:Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can make early rental reservations by phone.
October 8, 2026:Reservations open to all guests online or by phone.
The resort itself is scheduled to open July 1, 2027.
Is Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Right for Your 2027 Vacation?
That's the question I would ask before simply choosing a resort because it's new.
There are a LOT of wonderful Disney resorts, and the "best" one isn't necessarily the newest one. Your budget, family size, priorities, transportation preferences, how much time you plan to spend at the resort, and the type of Disney vacation you're planning all matter.
For some families, a standard resort room may be exactly what they need.
For others, having a full kitchen and separate living space could make a villa or Lake House worth considering.
And for a multigenerational trip? One of those three-bedroom Grand Villas could be a very interesting option.
That's where working with a travel advisor can help. I'm not just looking at what's new—I'm looking at what actually makes sense for your trip.
Planning a Disney Vacation for 2027?
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge is just one of the many options you'll have for a 2027 Walt Disney World vacation.
If you're considering a trip for 2027 and want help figuring out which Disney resort, room type, and overall vacation setup makes the most sense for your family, I'd love to help you plan it.
Ready to start planning?
And if Lakeshore Lodge has caught your eye, let me know! I'd love to hear which accommodation you'd choose—the Lake House, a villa, Grand Villa, or a traditional resort room? 🏡🌲✨
