If you're planning a Walt Disney World vacation during the holiday season, you've probably wondered whether Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is worth the extra ticket.

Between the additional cost, limited dates, and exclusive entertainment, it can be difficult to decide if it's the right fit for your family.

In this guide, I'll walk you through the 2026 party dates, ticket prices, what's included, and the planning considerations I discuss with my Disney clients so you can decide if this special event belongs in your vacation plans. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 at a Glance

What Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed after-hours event held at Magic Kingdom on select nights during November and December.

Unlike a regular park day, the party offers exclusive holiday entertainment, festive character meet-and-greets, complimentary holiday treats, themed attractions, specialty merchandise, and a Christmas atmosphere that transforms Magic Kingdom into a winter celebration.

Although the party officially begins at 7:00 p.m., guests with party tickets may enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00 p.m., giving you up to eight hours to enjoy the park. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Dates

The 2026 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be offered on 25 select nights between November 8 and December 22, 2026.

If you're hoping to attend around Thanksgiving or the weeks leading up to Christmas, I recommend purchasing tickets as early as possible. Those dates have historically been among the most popular. When Do Tickets Go on Sale?

Disney Resort hotel guests (including the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotels and Shades of Green) may begin purchasing tickets on July 9, 2026.

Tickets go on sale to all other guests on July 16, 2026.

If you're staying at a Disney Resort and know you'd like to attend, taking advantage of the early purchase window can give you a better chance of securing your preferred date.

For 2026, ticket prices range from:

$189–$229 per person, plus tax

Children ages 3–9 receive a small discount.

Prices vary by event date, with weekends and dates closer to Christmas generally costing more than earlier November parties.

One of the biggest questions families ask is what they're actually paying for.

  • Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade

  • Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

  • Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration stage show

Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Worth It?

This is probably the question I receive most often.

The answer depends on what you want from your Disney vacation.

It may be worth it if...

✔️ You love Christmas.

✔️ You enjoy Disney entertainment like parades, fireworks, and stage shows.

✔️ Meeting rare Disney characters is a priority.

✔️ You're visiting during the holiday season and want an experience you can't have during regular park hours.

✔️ You're celebrating a special occasion, such as a first Disney Christmas, anniversary, or multigenerational family vacation.

You may want to skip it if...

✔️ Your primary goal is riding as many attractions as possible.

✔️ You're working with a tight vacation budget.

✔️ You only have two or three park days and prefer spending full days in the parks instead of purchasing an additional event ticket.

There's no right or wrong answer—it simply depends on your family's priorities.

My Biggest Planning Tip

If attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is important to your family, don't wait to purchase your tickets.

Every year, guests wait, assuming they can purchase tickets closer to their vacation, only to discover that their preferred party date has already sold out. Popular nights—especially around Thanksgiving and the weeks leading up to Christmas—can sell out well before the event.

If you know you want to attend, purchasing your tickets as early as possible gives you the best chance of securing the date that works best for your vacation.
